St. Louis — It’s a Bavarian Bash! Put on your lederhosen and get ready to raise your steins — Oktoberfest is returning to Westport Plaza on Friday and Saturday, October 16 -17.

Admission to this special outdoor event is FREE.

On Friday, enjoy the sounds of the Bobby Ford Band from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, jam out to live tunes from Die Spitzbaum (11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), Brasshaufen (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.) and The Wurst Bavarian Band (3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.). From 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., St. Louis Express takes the stage, and the So Grand Polka Band wraps up the festive night from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

How strong is your drinking arm? Test your skills in a traditional stein-holding contest at 7 p.m. Saturday in the middle of the Oktoberfest grounds to win a tasty prize.

And what’s Oktoberfest without German food? Dive into a delicious spread, including bratwurst, schnitzel, pretzels and all your Bavarian favorites while you sip on a cold Spaten Oktoberfest and other brews.

I'm a 40-year-old father blessed with two wonderful children: a 13-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. My life revolves around my beautiful wife, who is the cornerstone of our family. Without her unwavering support, none of what I do would be possible. By day, I serve as a network administrator for a local school district, ensuring smooth operations in the realm of technology. During the evenings, you'll often find me engrossed in various creative pursuits, from illustrating books to crafting websites or composing music. But above all, my priority is spending quality time with my kids. Parenthood has been a profound journey of growth and discovery for me, and now, armed with a keyboard instead of a pen, I'm eager to share my experiences and insights with others.
