Welcome to St. Louis Dad! Why should mom have all the fun?
My name is Richie Williams, and I’m a dad, husband, artist, creator, and lifelong St. Louis area resident. St. Louis Dad started more than a decade ago as a place to share my experiences navigating fatherhood. At the time, I noticed plenty of mom blogs out there, but not nearly as many dads sharing their perspectives. I figured it was time to change that!
What started as a dad blog has grown into something a little bigger. These days, you’ll find a little bit of everything here, from family adventures to things happening around St. Louis, creative projects, books, and whatever else catches my attention.

St. Louis Dad is all about discovering things to do, places to go, and stuff to make. Whether you’re looking for a fun family outing, checking out an upcoming local event, searching for something interesting to read, or just curious about what I’ve been working on, there’s probably something here for you.
A few things you can expect to find:
- Around Town: Local events, festivals, attractions, concerts, and interesting things happening throughout the St. Louis and St. Charles area.
- Family & Fun: Adventures, experiences, and the occasional story about life as a dad and husband.
- Inside Fun: Indoor activities, entertainment, and things to do when the weather is or isn’t cooperating.
- Creative Projects: Books, illustrations, websites, videos, music, and other things I enjoy creating.
- Mischief Night: A Halloween-inspired children’s book series created with my son, Alex. Because there’s always room for a little mischief!
A Little About Me
I’m a husband to my wonderful wife, Destiny, and a proud dad to two kids and two dogs that keep life interesting. My family is a big part of who I am, and while they’re getting older and developing their own interests, we’re still finding plenty of ways to have fun together.
By day, I work in network security and technology administration for a local school district. Outside of work, I’m usually bouncing between creative projects. I’ve spent years illustrating children’s books, building websites, making music, and experimenting with all sorts of ideas. Some projects turn into something bigger, others are just fun to work on. Either way, I enjoy making things.
I’m also a big fan of our hometown. St. Louis has an incredible amount to offer, and I enjoy discovering local attractions, supporting area businesses, attending events, and sharing interesting finds with others.
Why St. Louis Dad?
I started this site because I wanted to share a dad’s perspective on family life. That original idea is still here, but it’s grown along with me and my family.
I don’t pretend to have all the answers when it comes to parenting, and I’m certainly not an expert on everything I write about. I’m just a dad who enjoys exploring, creating, trying new things, and sharing the experience along the way.
Whether you’re a parent, a fellow St. Louis local, someone looking for something fun to do, or just stumbled across this little corner of the internet, I’m glad you’re here.
