The holiday season is almost here, and downtown Washington, MO is getting ready to celebrate! Downtown Washington, Inc. has announced its lineup of 2026 holiday events, featuring a festive parade, holiday shopping, a Christmas pub crawl, and a special holiday tour.
Whether you’re looking to kick off the Christmas season with a parade, find some unique gifts while shopping local, or enjoy a little holiday adventure, there’s plenty happening in downtown Washington this November and December!

Holiday Parade of Lights – November 27, 2026
Free Community Event
Kick off the holiday season with the annual Holiday Parade of Lights in historic downtown Washington on Friday, November 27, at 6 PM!
This year’s theme is “Deck the Streets with Christmas Beats,” and visitors can expect an evening filled with lighted floats, marching bands, festive characters, and a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The parade will travel through historic downtown Washington, making it a great opportunity to bundle up, find a spot along the route, and enjoy some holiday fun with the family.
Immediately following the parade, Santa and Mayor Hagedorn will join together to light the downtown Christmas tree!

- South up Cedar Street to Fifth Street
- East on Fifth Street to Elm Street
- North on Elm Street to Second Street
- East on Second Street to Jefferson Street
- North on Jefferson Street to Main Street
- West on Main Street to Cedar Street
Small Business Saturday – November 28, 2026

The holiday shopping season continues Saturday, November 28, with Small Business Saturday in downtown Washington!
Skip the big-box stores and shop local while supporting the merchants and small businesses that make downtown Washington special. Local shops will be decked out in their Christmas decorations and offering holiday gifts, promotions, and specials throughout the day.
There’s also a little extra excitement for shoppers!
Downtown Washington, Inc. will be hosting a $1,000 gift certificate giveaway at 10 AM, while supplies last. Stop by the blue tent near the fountain for your chance to win a $5 or $10 gift certificate.
It’s a great opportunity to find some unique Christmas gifts while supporting local businesses!
Crawlin’ Around the Christmas Tree Pub Crawl – December 5, 2026

Ready for a little holiday fun? Crawlin’ Around the Christmas Tree returns to downtown Washington on Saturday, December 5, from 2–8 PM!
This Christmas-themed pub crawl gives participants the opportunity to visit local bars, wineries, and breweries while enjoying holiday specials along the way.
Tickets are $25 and include:
- A long-sleeve event T-shirt
- Shuttle access

Downtown Washington Holiday Tour – December 13, 2026

Looking for a little holiday inspiration? The Downtown Washington Holiday Tour takes place Sunday, December 13, from 4–7 PM.
This special holiday tour gives visitors a chance to explore beautiful homes and private businesses throughout downtown Washington, all decorated for the season.
Shuttle service will be available for participants, making it easy to visit the featured properties and enjoy a festive evening exploring some of downtown Washington’s hidden gems.
Tickets are $25 per person and are on sale now!
It’s a fun way to get into the holiday spirit while getting a peek inside some exclusive downtown properties.
