On March 14, 2025, St. Louis will be treated to a celestial spectacle—a total lunar eclipse, also known as a Blood Moon. For those unfamiliar, a Blood Moon occurs when the Earth positions itself perfectly between the Sun and the Moon, casting a reddish glow across the lunar surface. It’s eerie, it’s beautiful, and it’s probably the closest thing we’ll get to a cosmic horror movie playing out in the night sky. The totality phase of this eclipse will last just over an hour, peaking at 2:58 AM CST—so for all the night owls and insomniacs out there, this one’s for you.
Eclipse Timing in St. Louis:
- Penumbral Eclipse Begins: March 14, 2025, at 12:09 AM CST

Viewing Tips:
- Location: Find an area with a clear view of the western sky, away from city lights, to enhance visibility.
- Equipment: While the eclipse is visible to the naked eye, using binoculars or a telescope can provide a more detailed view.
- Timing: Plan to be outside by 2:00 AM CST to acclimate to the darkness and catch the progression into totality.
But let’s talk about something even more powerful happening on this particular evening: my wife’s birthday. That’s right, a Pisces born on a night when the moon literally turns red like some kind of apocalyptic omen. If that’s not a sign of celestial dominance, I don’t know what is.
Pisces are already known for their deep emotions, intuitive nature, and a touch of the mystical—so pair that with a Blood Moon, and I fully expect my wife’s powers to reach their annual peak. Will she suddenly manifest the ability to predict the future? Will she levitate? Will I wake up in the morning to find that she has enchanted the dog to only respond in riddles? Anything is possible under the glow of a Pisces Blood Moon.
The symbolism is almost too perfect. The Moon, known for its ties to emotions and the subconscious, turns red—like a warning light for the rest of us. The world watches in awe (and maybe a little fear) as the eclipse unfolds, much like I watch my wife decide where she wants to go for dinner on her birthday. There is no earthly force strong enough to interfere with either event.
So as the Blood Moon rises and the night turns crimson, I will be celebrating the most mystical Pisces of them all—my wife. May this rare lunar event amplify her kindness, wisdom, and, most importantly, her patience with me. Happy Birthday, my love. May your reign be as legendary as this eclipse.
