St. Louis — Go Bananas at City Museum with an Official Guinness World Record Attempt for the Largest Gathering of People Wearing Banana Hats on April 2 at 5:30 pm.

City Museum is no stranger to official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ titles. Last spring St. Louisans helped set the record for Largest Gathering of People Wearing Underwear on their Heads (that record has since been broken). Next week, with the Savannah Bananas heading to town, it’s time for City Museum to Go Bananas and attempt another record.

On Wednesday, April 2 — with an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS adjudicator on-site — City Museum and Explore St. Louis will attempt to break another record: Largest Gathering of People Wearing Banana Hats.

Since there was so much demand for head-adorned underwear last year, City Museum is offering a pre-sale on tickets that guarantees an opportunity to participate in this event. These limited tickets include General Admission for the day, plus exclusive participation in the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title attempt from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in Architecture Hall on the 3rd floor.

314DJ will keep the party rolling and all participants will be able to keep their official Banana Hat (courtesy of Rasta Imposta) as thanks for their help. Limited tickets available, this event will sell out quickly.

In addition, special banana treats will be available all througout the museum on April 4 & 5 to welcome baseball’s Savannah Bananas to STL. Treats include:

  • Banana pudding parfait in the Baby Elephant Café
  • Banana Ball cocktail (various bars throughout City Museum)
  • Banana nut muffins in the Overflow Café
  • Banana Split Dippin’ Dots inside the Lizard Lounge
  • Frozen chocolate covered bananas on the Rooftop

I'm a 40-year-old father blessed with two wonderful children: a 13-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. My life revolves around my beautiful wife, who is the cornerstone of our family. Without her unwavering support, none of what I do would be possible. By day, I serve as a network administrator for a local school district, ensuring smooth operations in the realm of technology. During the evenings, you'll often find me engrossed in various creative pursuits, from illustrating books to crafting websites or composing music. But above all, my priority is spending quality time with my kids. Parenthood has been a profound journey of growth and discovery for me, and now, armed with a keyboard instead of a pen, I'm eager to share my experiences and insights with others.
