A wide range of potential causes could be to blame for the fact that you have not been able to make any progress toward achieving the fitness goals that you have set for yourself. Among these potential causes is the fact that you have not been able to devote enough time to working out. It makes no difference what has happened in the past; the worst thing you can do is give up and consider yourself a hopeless cause. There is always a chance that things could turn out differently.  The time has come to get back on track and begin making progress toward achieving those goals. Let us look at some ways to approach it.

What are your goals?

What are some of the things that you hope to achieve?  Set your objective. You must decide and then proceed from that point onward. In order to achieve a mental victory, you should, for the time being, make certain that everything is crystal clear, that it is brief, and that it is restrained. Do you manage to consume the amount of water that is recommended for you to consume daily, which is eight glasses? Have you been able to get rid of those five extra pounds? What about a jog that is three miles long? Do you work out on four different days per week? You think you have figured out where your finish line will be, and you jot the information down. After that, you need to formulate a plan for how you are going to get there. Writing down your objectives and coming up with a strategy for how you intend to achieve them will increase the likelihood that you will be successful in achieving whatever it is that you have set out to do. Make sure that you not only provide a starting date but also a finishing date to achieve the goals that you have set for yourself. It is a good idea to get a smart watch to help you with this. Do your research – look at the apple watch battery life before settling on the model that you want. 

Make up a mantra

Create a mantra out of your “why,” which you should be able to answer now that you are aware of the reasons why you want to eat healthier: “I am going to eat healthier to feel better and save money.” It is a good idea to begin by reciting your mantra before you decide what you are going to eat for lunch. This will help you stay focused and on track. When you just do not feel like getting out of bed and going for a walk, using your mantra can help you get past those feelings and accomplish what you set out to do. Allow it to serve as a guide in the decision-making process so that you can make a choice that will assist you in achieving the goals you have established for yourself. If you keep doing this day after day, meal after meal, run after run, you will eventually notice a significant change as a result of the cumulative effect. This will happen whether you are trying to lose weight or improve your athletic performance.

Be less critical of yourself?

It is not necessary to be perfect in everything that you do in order to accomplish your goals and become successful. Perhaps you fell ill this week and were unable to complete even one of the four workouts that you had scheduled for yourself. If what you say is true, then you have a reason to feel guilty about what happened. That is okay. After a few of these slow, deep, and drawn-out breaths, let all of that air out of your lungs. It is not the right time for you to step down from your position, and you should not consider yourself to be a failure. Because they are mutually exclusive, the two objectives of progress and perfection are inherently incompatible with one another and therefore cannot coexist. It is imperative that you get back on track as soon as you feel better and work toward achieving some of your goals each day, even if it is only a small portion of what you have set out to do. The only way you will be successful is if you are consistent, so it is imperative that you get back on track as soon as you feel better. The most important step.

Beginning with some victories that are not particularly significant is a good way to get those positive and motivational feelings flowing in the right direction. It is more likely that you will continue doing what you are doing if you have a positive attitude about what you are doing and if you feel good about what you are doing.
