St. Louis Father and Son Release Fourth Book in Their Halloween-Themed Mischief Night Series

ST. LOUIS, MO — October 5, 2026 — St. Louis father and illustrator Richie Williams and his son Alex Williams, are back with another spooky adventure as they release Mischief Night 4: Hex and Havoc, the fourth book in their independently created Mischief Night children’s book series.

The newest installment follows returning characters Tim and Lucy as they discover a mysterious new card game called Hex and Havoc. What begins as an innocent night of playing cards quickly turns into something much more mischievous when the game’s magical cards begin bringing creatures, spells, and chaos to life.

Soon, Tim and Lucy find themselves trying to figure out the strange rules of the game and, more importantly, how to make the mischief stop before it takes over the neighborhood.

The Mischief Night series is a father-and-son creative project that combines Williams’ longtime work as an illustrator with his son’s ideas and imagination. Together, they have continued expanding the adventures of Tim and Lucy with each new book.

“One of my favorite things about making these books is that they started as a fun twenty-four hour comic book project with my son and have turned into an ongoing series that we get to create together,” says Williams. “Every book gives us an excuse to come up with new characters, new Halloween chaos, and new ways to make each other laugh.”

Hex and Havoc continues the series’ blend of Halloween fun, humor, monsters, and kid-friendly mischief, making it a natural addition to the collection for families looking for a spooky read during the Halloween season.

Mischief Night 4: Hex and Havoc is now available in print and eBook editions on Amazon.

I'm a 40-year-old father blessed with two wonderful children: a 13-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. My life revolves around my beautiful wife, who is the cornerstone of our family. Without her unwavering support, none of what I do would be possible. By day, I serve as a network administrator for a local school district, ensuring smooth operations in the realm of technology. During the evenings, you'll often find me engrossed in various creative pursuits, from illustrating books to crafting websites or composing music. But above all, my priority is spending quality time with my kids. Parenthood has been a profound journey of growth and discovery for me, and now, armed with a keyboard instead of a pen, I'm eager to share my experiences and insights with others.
