Record Store Day (RSD) is back on Saturday, April 12, 2025, and St. Louis is ready to celebrate with exclusive vinyl releases, live music, and special promotions at local record stores. Whether you’re a longtime collector or just starting to explore the world of vinyl, this is the perfect opportunity to support independent record shops and discover some amazing music.

A Brief History of Record Store Day

Founded in 2007, Record Store Day was created to celebrate and promote independent record stores worldwide. The event brings together artists, fans, and music retailers, offering exclusive, limited-edition vinyl releases that are only available at participating stores. Over the years, RSD has grown into a global phenomenon, with major and indie artists alike releasing special records to commemorate the day.

Fun Fact: The Largest Vinyl Ever Made

Did you know that the largest playable vinyl record ever made was a 24-inch disc created in 2012? While standard records come in 7-inch, 10-inch, and 12-inch sizes, this oversized vinyl was pressed as a promotional stunt—definitely not something you’d find in a typical record store!

I'm a 40-year-old father blessed with two wonderful children: a 13-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. My life revolves around my beautiful wife, who is the cornerstone of our family. Without her unwavering support, none of what I do would be possible. By day, I serve as a network administrator for a local school district, ensuring smooth operations in the realm of technology. During the evenings, you'll often find me engrossed in various creative pursuits, from illustrating books to crafting websites or composing music. But above all, my priority is spending quality time with my kids. Parenthood has been a profound journey of growth and discovery for me, and now, armed with a keyboard instead of a pen, I'm eager to share my experiences and insights with others.
