A big congratulations is in order for Florissant’s own Old Town Donuts — they’ve officially been named the best doughnut shop in the entire country!

Located on North New Florissant Road, this beloved local bakery beat out 63 other contenders from across the U.S. in a bracket-style competition hosted by The64. The tournament, dubbed the Best Donuts in America, featured head-to-head matchups where the public voted for their favorite spots in each round.

Old Town Donuts, a mainstay in the St. Louis County community for over 50 years, is known for keeping the fryers going 24/7 to make sure fresh donuts are always available. Their round-the-clock dedication and loyal fanbase clearly paid off — in the final round, they edged out Jason’s Donuts from Eagle River, Alaska, to claim the title.

The64 team built the bracket using public nominations, shop achievements, and their own review process, but it was the fans who carried Old Town across the finish line. Voting for each round lasted two days, with the final vote wrapping up this past Sunday.

After the win, Old Town Donuts took to Facebook to thank their supporters, saying, “Thank you to everyone that voted and helped get the word out. We love all of you!”

If you haven’t tasted what all the fuss is about, now might be the perfect time to treat yourself to a fresh one — or a dozen — from America’s new favorite donut shop.

I'm a 40-year-old father blessed with two wonderful children: a 13-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. My life revolves around my beautiful wife, who is the cornerstone of our family. Without her unwavering support, none of what I do would be possible. By day, I serve as a network administrator for a local school district, ensuring smooth operations in the realm of technology. During the evenings, you'll often find me engrossed in various creative pursuits, from illustrating books to crafting websites or composing music. But above all, my priority is spending quality time with my kids. Parenthood has been a profound journey of growth and discovery for me, and now, armed with a keyboard instead of a pen, I'm eager to share my experiences and insights with others.
