MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH AT THE ST. LOUIS AQUARIUM — MAY 12 AT 10 AM

It’s more than just an elegant meal — it’ a chance to mingle with the sharks, stingrays and adorable otters. The event incudes the meal and admission to the St. Louis Aquarium where everyone in the family can get a hands-on, hands-wet experience with the animals. A Bouquet Bar will be available where kids can create and purchase flower arrangements for their amazing mothers. Brunch and Aquarium combo tickets are $77 for adults and $44 for children, ages 3 – 12. Children 2 and under are complimentary. Menu items include:

  • French Toast Domes with chili maple syrup
  • Breakfast Tarts with roasted tomato, spinach, and the catch of the day -or Black Truffle & Leek 
  • Applewood Smoked Bacon and Pork Sausage
  • Individual Yogurt Parfaits with blueberries, strawberries, vanilla yogurt, and house granola.
  • Omelet Station: Create your own masterpiece with a variety of ingredients
  • Fruit Display
  • Assorted Danish, Muffins, and Mini Desserts
  • Potato Croquettes
  • Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, Boursin cheese, capers, and bagel chips.
  • Hummus Cups, crudité, and crostini.

MOMS RIDE FREE ON THE ST. LOUIS WHEEL ON MOTHER’S DAY

After brunch at the Aquarium, or as a stand-alone activity, families can take Mom for a free ride on the 200-foot-tall St. Louis Wheel at Union Station. The Wheel offers amazing view of the St. Louis skyline and is open from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. The enclosed gondolas are heated and cooled so mom will be comfy on the Wheel no matter the weather. Carousel rides, mini-golf and carnival games also will be open. Tickets at the Wheel or online at www.thestlouiswheel.com.

MOMS CAN VISIT CITY MUSEUM FOR FREE ON MAY 12

Climb, slide, explore and have even more fun on Mother’s Day when moms, grandmas and even great-grandmas get into City Museum for free. The kids can make a special mom-themed craft project in Art City and Mom can swing by the Cabin Inn or Beatnik Bob’s to enjoy a “Mom-mosa” or the new City Museum Hard Seltzer from 4 Hands Brewing Co. Details and tickets at www.citymuseum.org.

FREE CUPCAKES & MORE AT McARTHUR’S BAKERY CAFE

Mom deserves something sweet on her special day. That’s why McArthur’s Bakery is giving moms a free cupcake when they dine in for breakfast or lunch on May 12. Mother’s Day-themed cakes also are available in the bakery cafe at 3055 Lemay Ferry Rd. and McArthur’s Pioneer Bakery Cafe at 210 N. Kirkwood Rd.
