ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Carolyn Mueller Kelly is the author of several books on St. Louis and Missouri, from their history to their natural wonders. She has spent the last two decades working at the Saint Louis Zoo and learning everything she possibly can about animals. Her favorite Zoo animal featured in this book is Kali the polar bear.
Richard Bernal is a freelance illustrator who studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. He has created art for various children’s books, including Brother Jerome and the Angels in the Bakery and Patriotic Pals: Tails of Civil War Dogs. He lives in St. Louis and often walks his dog in Forest Park.
