Every year on March 10th, fans worldwide come together to celebrate Mario Day, honoring the iconic Italian plumber who has been a cornerstone of gaming culture for decades. But why March 10th? The date cleverly resembles the name “Mario” when written as “Mar10,” a playful nod that has become a beloved annual tradition.

A Brief History of Mario
Mario made his first appearance in 1981 as “Jumpman” in the arcade classic Donkey Kong. Two years later, in 1983, he was reimagined as an Italian plumber in Mario Bros., setting the stage for his starring role in Super Mario Bros. in 1985. This game not only cemented Mario’s status as a gaming legend but also played a pivotal role in revitalizing the video game industry during that era. (houstonchronicle.com)

- Mario music (optional, for extra fun!)

Instructions:
- Set Up the Course – Arrange obstacles in a backyard, living room, or playground. Place coins along the way for players to collect.

- Jump and Duck – Players must jump over balloons (Goombas) and crawl under tables (pipes).
- Collect Coins – Grab yellow paper coins along the way. Whoever collects the most wins a special Mario Champion Badge (printable or homemade).
- Final Challenge – The last part of the course is Bowser’s Castle (a stack of boxes or a mini fort). Players must throw a bean bag or soft object at a “Bowser” target to defeat him and complete the game!
🎉 Winning the Game: The player who finishes the course the fastest and collects the most coins is the ultimate Mario champion!
