
WHAT: The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree is headed toward its holiday home in Washington, DC. It will make a stop in St. Louis at Union Station.
WHEN: Wednesday, November 12. The giant tree arrives at 3 p.m. and a special public event will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. before the tree heads east.
WHERE: The South Parking Lot at St. Louis Union Station, 201 S. 18th Street.
DETAILS: The 53-foot red fir — named Silver Belle — is from the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in Nevada. It will be displayed on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol during the holiday season. Visit www.uscapitolchristmastree.com for more information.
The public is invited to view and take pictures with the tree in the south parking lot at St. Louis Union Station from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12. Festive hot chocolate will be served at O Tannen Bar, Union Station’s 45-foot-tall Christmas Tree-shaped bar on the St. Louis Wheel Park Plaza. As the center of Christmas festivities in downtown St. Louis, Union Station will give a warm and sparkling welcome to the tree during its stop in the Gateway City while hundreds of families attend the Polar Express Train Ride preview night.
For 55 years, a tree from American public land has journeyed to Washington , DC as a gift from the people for the people.

POLAR EXPRESS PREVIEW NIGHT
Wednesday also marks the beginning of Polar Express Train Ride season at St. Louis Union Station. On this preview night, riders will travel to the North Pole on train departures at 4:30 p.m., 6 p.m., 7:15 p.m. and 8 p.m. Media are invited to capture the kickoff for this holiday tradition.
