
ST. LOUIS, MO – December, 2025 – The St. Louis Classic Rock Preservation Society (SLCRPS) has proudly inducted 12 new honorees into the St. Louis Classic Rock HALL OF FAME.
The mission of the St. Louis Classic Rock Preservation Society is to preserve, promote and honor St. Louis’ unique classic rock heritage and its place in music and pop culture history.
The event was hosted by SLCRPS board member and Hall of Fame inductee, Ron Stevens, joining him in making the introductions were Hall of Fame inductees, Joy Grdnic, Ted Habeck and Greg Hagglund.

The SOLD-OUT event was highlighted by the 12 inductees, including;
LOCAL ARTISTS
The Aardvarks
Accepting on behalf of the band, members Jean Burman and Mike Newman
NOTABLE: Jean & Mike formed The Aardvarks in 1964 with Mike Wee and Skip Daley.
The Guise
Accepting on behalf of the band, Mike Krenski
NOTABLE: Mike Krenski wrote the Bob Kuban hit song, “The Cheater.”
Jake Jones
Accepting on behalf of the band, Don “Barney” River and Mike Krenski
NOTABLE: Keyboardist, Phil Jost (1950-2021), among his many credits, wrote “She’s My Baby” for Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Streetside Records
Accepting on behalf of the popular local chain, three past store managers
NOTABLE: Their first store opened in 1971 in the Delmar Loop and the last one closed in 2013 in Columbia, MO.
Stages (Granite City, Il.)
Accepting on behalf of Stages, owner Bill Benjamin
NOTABLE: Stages hosted top local and national bands throughout the 1980s.
Stonehenge (Lebanon, Il.)

NOTABLE: Gerry was still in his 20s when he managed the Stonehenge nightclub in Lebanon, Il, along with Ricco’s in Belleville and Granite City.

The Charlie Daniels Band

NOTABLE: Charlie Daniels played for free for an estimated audience of 80,000 fans in St. Louis Forest Park in 1975.

NOTABLE: In addition to becoming a popular radio personality on KSHE-FM and KSD-FM, Joe Mason directed TV episodes that appeared on CNN, ABC Family, VH-1, Discovery, and The Travel Channel.
EXECUTIVE
Wayne Meisenholder, Capital Records
92-year-old Wayne Meisenholder personally accepted his Hall of Fame award.
NOTABLE: Several Capital acts, including Sammy Hagar, broke nationally out of St. Louis through the efforts of Wayne Meisenholder.

ST. LOUIS POP CULTURE
Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Varsity & Tivoli Theaters
Accepting on behalf of the Varsity, Paul Piccione
NOTABLE: Paul’s father, Pete Piccione was one of the first theater owners in the nation to begin screening The Rocky Horror Picture Show at midnight on weekends in March 1976, It ran almost every weekend for over a decade.
THE JERRY M. COOK AWARD
Ralph Morse (1951-2025)
Accepting on behalf of Ralph, his nephew Nathan James
NOTABLE: This award goes to the individual or individuals who consistently exemplify the mission of the St. Louis Classic Rock Preservation Society.
The St. Louis Classic Rock Hall of Fame is presented and curated by The St. Louis Classic Rock Preservation Society, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization now in its 15th year, hosting several events a year to raise funds for local St. Louis charities.
