Join author Ashley Key at the Saint Louis Science Center’s Energy Stage for a dazzling northern lights science show and Arctic-themed STEM experience!
This interactive program begins with a lively read-aloud of Ashley’s poetic picture book, Dash and the Lights in the Sky, followed by a hands-on Foil Aurora Mask Craft where kids create shimmering aurora-inspired masks to take home.
After the craft, Ashley will present a live science show using an aurora projector and kid-friendly demonstrations to explain how Earth’s magnetic poles, solar wind, and atmospheric particles create the aurora borealis. Children will watch light, color, and magnetism come alive right before their eyes.
Families are encouraged to explore the Science Center’s galleries and STEM exhibits after the program.
