ST. LOUIS – Camp Sabra is proud to announce new scholarship and grant opportunities for Summer 2026, made possible through the extraordinary generosity of Michael Staenberg. These awards expand access to Camp Sabra’s confidence-building, friendship-forming, Jewish identity–strengthening overnight camp experience. Scholarship & Grant Opportunities for Summer 2026 include:

  • Michael Staenberg Second Year Camper Grant
Eligible returning campers may receive up to $850 toward Summer 2026 tuition if they received a 2025 One Happy Camper grant—helping make a second summer at Camp Sabra possible.
  • Tuition-Free, Need-Based Scholarship
Camp Sabra will award up to ten full-tuition, need-based scholarships to ensure financial circumstances never prevent a child from experiencing the magic of camp.

“A tuition free, need based scholarship to Camp Sabra is a game changer. There are families who want to send their children to Jewish summer camp, to Camp Sabra, but simply cannot afford it. Because of Michael Staenberg’s generosity, families who once thought camp was out of reach can now say yes,” said Kim Sloan, Camp Director at Camp Sabra. “The second-year camper grant is also incredibly impactful. The first year sparks interest, but the second year is when camp truly becomes a child’s summer home. This support helps families bridge that gap and gives campers the chance to belong.”

Families interested in applying for a scholarship or have any questions are encouraged to reach out to Camp Sabra Associate Director, Lisa Deutsch at Lisa@campsabra.com.

I'm a 40-year-old father blessed with two wonderful children: a 13-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. My life revolves around my beautiful wife, who is the cornerstone of our family. Without her unwavering support, none of what I do would be possible. By day, I serve as a network administrator for a local school district, ensuring smooth operations in the realm of technology. During the evenings, you'll often find me engrossed in various creative pursuits, from illustrating books to crafting websites or composing music. But above all, my priority is spending quality time with my kids. Parenthood has been a profound journey of growth and discovery for me, and now, armed with a keyboard instead of a pen, I'm eager to share my experiences and insights with others.
