ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Amanda E. Doyle is a Midwestern transplant who finds intrigue and adventures large and small from her home base in St. Louis, MO. She’s the author of 9 books, from neighborhood guidebooks to a history of the civil rights struggle in St. Louis. Dan Zettwoch is a cartoonist, information designer, and printmaker in St. Louis, Missouri. In addition to many self-published zines and handcrafted mini-comics, his books include Birdseye Bristoe (Drawn & Quarterly), Amazing Facts & Beyond (Uncivilized Books), plus Science Comics: Cars and Science Comics: Bridges (First Second). His goofball illustrations and jam-packed diagrams have also been seen in the Missouri History Museum, the State Capitol Museum, and in homemade screenprints commemorating local birds, baseball, and strange foods. Missouri History Museum Halloween Party: Thursday, October 26, 4:30 p.m. -7 p.m. An interactive station with a fun Missouri map game will be part of the museum-wide Halloween celebration. 

Along with traditional book-signings and author talks, this book has its own game show. “Do You Know MO?” will travel to area schools and institutions like the Missouri History Museum, to give young readers a taste of the magic of Missouri…and see if they can answer the most challenging trivia questions! It all happens behind real podiums, with real buzzers, wacky show hosts and music, and more. (Schools can also request a free curriculum guide that illustrates the state educational standards met by the book’s content.)
