Seriously, Beef Liver is Tasty!

chewy.comBeef liver may not be tasty for you or me, but my dogs sure do eat it up. Chewy.com sent over a tub of Evanger’s Nothing but Natural Beef Liver Gently Dried Dog & Cat Treats for us to try out with our two crazy doggies Clark and Miss Lady.

When I saw that it was beef liver flavor I am pretty sure my stomach turned a little bit thinking of liver. I’m just happy these are not for me to eat. They are a perfect size as a reward treat to use when practicing tricks or other training techniques. Both Clark and Miss Lady will sit very pretty for one of Evanger’s Nothing but Natural treats. I also like the tub that these treats came in. After these are out I plan on keeping the tub to use for other treats.

IMG_3884Clark and Miss Lady will most definitely be enjoying the rest of these treats while also getting a re-enforced education in sitting, laying down, and other standard dog tricks. I tried and failed many times trying to get a picture of the dogs practicing their sitting while waiting for a beef liver treat but just couldn’t get it to happen. Follow me on Instagram to catch a photo when I do get it.

There are more flavors than just the Beef Liver if that is not your thing. Check out Chewy’s website for more awesome Evanger’s Nothing but Natural Dog and Cat Treats. I can see these being a go to treat for training for any dog. I’m not sure about a cat because I don’t have one but comment below if you have any experience training cats. I have heard they are hard to train and really independent. So I am interested in your responses.

All in all you cannot go wrong with these treats. Clark and Miss Lady love a good treat and when I can get them to sit for one of these tasty beef liver treats.

Boo Bar Treats for Halloween!

chewy.comThis month Chewy has the perfect treat for your doggies this Halloween season. Boo Bar treats are a mix of pumpkin and cinnamon baked together with whole grains, fruits, and veggies. Made by The Blue Buffalo Co. these were very loved by both Clark and Miss Lady. Too be perfectly honest I wasn’t optimistic about these treats at first. I wasn’t sure the dogs would like a pumpkin and cinnamon flavored treat. Like usual, I was wrong. The dogs loved them and were begging for them every time we got them out.

IMG_0444Holiday themed treats are a fantastic way to switch it up from the normal treats you may get for your dogs. If you get to enjoy some pumpkin in your latte, why not give your pets a nice pumpkin and spice treat too! These would be great to give out to any dogs that may be out trick or treating (with their owners permission of course).

Again, like some of the other dog treats we get, we had to put these ones up so the kids could not see them. The fun packaging can really fool those that cannot read yet. My son Alex threw a nice tantrum when we would not give him a treat. He is only 19 months right now so he just doesn’t understand, and it’s kinda funny when you think about it. I’m sure he would probably think these are pretty tasty too! We’ll keep them away from him just in case.

Cookies and Stains

chewy.comThis month Chewy.com sent over two products that were well received in my house. The first item was Merrick’s Jerky Chip Treats. They are oven-baked cookies for dogs. We tried out the Real Beef Recipe with Miss Lady and Clark. Needless to say they really enjoyed the treats. I don’t think there is anything they won’t eat. We typically reward our dogs when they are being good. Such as when we are eating dinner. If they do not hound us for food and instead lay in another room, then we will reward them with a treat like these cookies.

I like the idea of the dog treats in the form of a cookie. They look a lot like the real deal, so much in fact we had to put these high up on the shelf so our kids did not see them. They do not know how to read yet, and because these look so much like cookies I know they would immediately want some. I am pretty sure if my daughter took a big bite out of one of these, she probably wouldn’t trust any cookie I give her. I wouldn’t blame her. These are definitely for dogs only.

IMG_4574The next item Chewy sent over was Rocco & Roxie Supply Co. Professional Strength Stain & Odor Eliminator. Unfortunately our dogs have had accidents in the house in the past. We have gotten the carpets cleaned and we have even purchased our own steam cleaner. Surprisingly, it took me a few weeks before I even had a chance to use the spray. Which is a good thing. Nobody wants to clean their carpets from pet stains. Luckily, the bottle says that it has a”Natural bio-enzymatic formula, permanently eliminates pet urine odor”. So when I finally had the chance to try it out I was very surprised at how well it worked. The spray itself smelled pretty good. So I followed the directions and after 20 minutes I could not tell that Clark had left his business on my floor. That was the only chance I’ve had to use it, so a win for Miss Lady and Clark in that category.

It’s also a big win for Rocco & Roxie Supply Co. They have a nice spray here and I definitely recommend picking up a bottle if your pet has any indoor accidents. Chewy.com really has pretty much everything you need for your pet, and I want to hear about them. So be sure to comment below and tell us about your furry children!

Treats from Chewy (Not the Wookie)

chewy.comOur family is really big on taking care of our pets. We have two dogs, Miss Lady and Clark and we want to make sure that they get food and treats that they like. This St. Louis Dad has teamed up with Chewy.com and will be providing reviews on a variety of their products. To start off I want to thank Chewy for this opportunity to try out these great items with my pets. Chewy provided the treats for an honest review. The dogs are super excited about getting a chance to try out a variety of treats. They really appreciate it too.

IMG_3990The first item that we tried out with Miss Lady and Clark was a Dogswell Sweet Potato Veggie Chews. The package says these have Super Boost for Immunity Support and they are a great alternative to rawhide. I think that’s great. Rawhide is one of those things that is kinda okay kinda not okay. These on the other hand are perfectly okay to give to dogs. Both of mine love them too. These were Made in The U.S.A as well. That may be important to some dog owners. It may also be worth noting that these are gluten free. Personally, I had never thought of sweet potatoes being something used as a dog treat. Props to Dogswell for coming up with this product. My dogs love them and I highly recommend trying them out with your canine.

The second and third treats we tried with the dogs were  both from Dogswell and were from the Happy Hips line. Duck Breast and Chicken Breast. Needless to say the dogs really enjoyed both. These are said to help with your dogs joints. No added hormones, no antibiotics, no fillers, no byproducts, and cage free animals. That is pretty cool.

Typically, we buy regular old milk bone type of treats and I figured we could try these out. Now I would be an idiot to ignore the fact that the duck and chicken treats were recalled back in 2013. These were not part of that recall, but I will be sure to update if I have any issues. For now, there is no reason to think there is any issue with these treats. Miss Lady and Clark enjoyed them, so we have two happy doggies, and that’s all I can ask for.

Chewy.com doesn’t only sell from the Dogswell line. There is a large variety of products from some of the top brands. Be sure to check out their website and see for yourself.
