St. Louis — Adorable otters Beau and Claire are being welcomed to their new home at the St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just in time for Spring Break visits, guests can see the otter sanctuary-raised pair exploring their land and water habitat and getting to know their new St. Louis environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHAT:\u00a0<\/strong>North American River Otters Beau and Claire are making their debut at the St. Louis Aquarium starting March 10, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHEN:<\/strong> Daily from 9 a.m. until closing<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MORE:<\/strong> This four-year-old pair comes to the St. Louis Aquarium through a unique conservation partnership dedicated to helping river otters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Louisiana, river otters often come into conflict with crawfish farmers, as they are natural predators of the harvest. To manage this balance, a specialized sanctuary rescues North American River Otters from these areas and finds them permanent homes like the St. Louis Aquarium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beau and Claire were both born at sanctuaries to rescued Louisiana-native parents. They are not siblings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the St. Louis Aquarium, the health and wellbeing of the animals is always the top priority. As part of this commitment to providing the best care possible, the Aquarium seeks opportunities that support natural behaviors and contribute to important breeding and conservation efforts within professional animal care facilities. Because North American River Otters do not remain in sibling groups as they mature, otter siblings Thatcher, Sawyer, and Finn — who have been at the St. Louis Aquarium for several years — have now moved to facilities that will allow them to continue thriving while supporting the long-term sustainability of their species, reflecting what\u2019s best for their growth and wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
