To manage this balance, a specialized sanctuary rescues North American River Otters from these areas and finds them permanent homes like the St. Louis Aquarium.

Beau and Claire were both born at sanctuaries to rescued Louisiana-native parents. As part of this commitment to providing the best care possible, the Aquarium seeks opportunities that support natural behaviors and contribute to important breeding and conservation efforts within professional animal care facilities. Because North American River Otters do not remain in sibling groups as they mature, otter siblings Thatcher, Sawyer, and Finn — who have been at the St. Louis Aquarium for several years — have now moved to facilities that will allow them to continue thriving while supporting the long-term sustainability of their species, reflecting what’s best for their growth and wellbeing.

INFO: www.stlouisaquarium.com or follow on social media @aquariumstl.

ABOUT THE ST.
