St. Louis — <\/strong>February brings amazing arts and activities for everyone to the weird and wonderful City Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Blessed by the Ancestors” is a captivating art exhibit that celebrates the rich artistic talent of Black artists hailing from St, Louis. The exhibition is included with City Museum admission and is open now through April 30 in celebration of Black History Month and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Curated by artist Brock Seals, this collection includes paintings, sculptures, mixed media pieces, and other forms of visual art that reflect the unique perspectives and experiences of the featured artists. Visitors to the exhibit can expect to encounter a vibrant tapestry of storytelling through art, each piece contributing to a larger narrative that pays homage to the ancestry that has shaped and inspired the artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FEBRUARY EVENTS AT CITY MUSEUM<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

City Museum’s City Nights series kicks off a little early this year, just in time for Valentine’s Day<\/strong>. Pass through the Tunnel of Love and dance to the musical stylings of St. Louis’s own Clownvis Presley for a special set of love songs, February 14 from 7 to 11 p.m. Bop, jitterbug, and shimmy with DJ Dot Matrix, and make your favorite people a Valentine. 21+ event. $25 for members and $30 for non-members. \ufeff<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Love is in the air. Meet your new best friend at City Museum’s Puppy Love<\/strong> adoption event<\/strong> on February 15 from noon til 3 p.m. in partnership with Stray Rescue of St. Louis. Whether you’re looking to add a furry friend to your family or simply want to make a difference, this special event is the perfect opportunity to give a loving puppy a fur-ever home. This event is included in City Museum admission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presidents Day weekend, <\/strong>City Museum will be open extended hours: Thurs, Feb. 13: 10 am\u20135 pm; Fri, Feb. 14: 10 am\u20139 pm; Sat, Feb. 15: 10 am\u20139 pm; Sun, Feb. 16: 10 am – 9 pm and Mon, Feb. 17: 10 am\u20135 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spindles In The City Painting Party, February 25, 5 – 9 p.m.\u00a0<\/strong>City Museum visitors have seen the uniquely colorful spinning posts along the rails of the main staircase, mezzanine, and second floor. According to City Museum lore, those iconic spindles were conveyor belt rollers from when the\u00a0building was\u00a0an International Shoe Company warehouse. To give the spindles some TLC, the\u00a0Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis<\/a>\u00a0has recruited local artists to re-paint the spindles, and guests are invited to get in on the painting fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Must be 21+ with valid ID. A portion of the ticket proceeds will go to support The Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis. $20 for spectators and $30 for painters. Art supplies are included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
