Gadgets And Gizmos For Your Christmas List

Christmas is almost here once again and for many of us this year it feels like the last time life was normal was Christmas last year!

If you are looking to start planning for your family Christmas early this year, you have likely already looked at some gadgets and gizmos to buy for yourself and your loved ones. Today we want to share some of the fun items you can buy for the family as a whole and as gifts for your children and partner. There are so many fun pieces of technology out there and today we are going to take a look at some of the things you could invest in this Christmas.

A New TV

Rather than buying some smaller gadgets for different members of your family it might be a better idea for but something that everyone can benefit from. A TV is a staple in any modern home and you should invest in one which has great resolution, a big screen, and will last for years to come. Buying the family a new TV for Christmas might not seem like the most exciting of things but you’ll be able to watch all of your festive favourites on a huge screen this winter!

A PS5

The PS5 is the newest of Sony’s Playstations to arrive on the market and already there are some amazing games available for it. From Assassins Creed Valhalla to FIFA 21 and a revamped GTA V – there are tons of games available on this console to keep everyone in the family occupied for hours and hours. This could be a great gift for your child this festive season or even as a treat for yourself after a tough year.

A Tablet

Every man and his dog has a tablet these days, and these small gadgets have become a useful addition to your technological arsenal at home. There are plenty of brilliant tablets under 200 if you don’t want to fork out on an iPad and you’ll have hours of fun watching films and tv, playing games, and even doing work all in one place. Tablets are a useful tool and can be a great gift to give someone you care about this Christmas.

Phillips Hue light strips

If you are looking for something which will add an air of magic and wonder to your living room setup – Phillips hue lights are the way to go. You can opt to buy bulbs for your lights and lamps which will turn on and off at the tap of an app – or perhaps you want to use a light strip to enhance your cinema experience. Phillips hue light strips can be fitted to the top of your tv, and they will be able to read and translate what is on the screen and emit light of the same colour as you watch. It will make all of those superhero flicks even more impressive and immerse you in their world.

An Instant Pot

An instant pot is the perfect gift for the cook in your life and it offers many functions in one small device. From slow cooking to sauté and rice cooking, it’s the ideal one pit gadget for anyone who loves to cook!

St. Louis Dad’s Holiday Gift List 2019

The holidays are here! So what better time than to list off some of my favorite gift ideas for this holiday season. In this list I have ideas for everyone in the family… Or at least I hope you’ll find something that they’ll like, if not then just get them some coal.

To start off the list why not hop on the bandwagon and get something that the entire family will enjoy, Disney+.

With the new content and the large catalog of Disney content, Disney+ is sure to be a hit for all in the family. You cannot go wrong with this subscription stuffed into a stocking.

Holiday His and Her Stocking Stuffer

Speaking of stockings, a great stocking stuffer from Shinesty.com are these very cute and very sexy “So that’s how coke is made trio”, a set of boxer, bralette, and cheeky underwear pack.

This set and many of the other combo packs feature adorable animals in very naughty predicaments. A great way to surprise your significant other and keep things exciting during the holiday season. Shinesty.com has a wide range of options in their holiday collection. Head on over to their site to see more!

A View Into Space

For the kid in your life it’s always important to find things for dad and child to do together. That’s where I believe science can play an important role in both of your lives!

One of my favorite things to do is to gaze up at the stars. So why not explore all of great options of telescopes out there. Amazon has a lot of options, but there are even options out there to build your own. Grab a kit or watch a few YouTube videos and see what you and your kiddo can find in the sky!

A Lifetime Memory

Another great idea for gifts this year is instead of actual gifts, give memories. There are so many cool places to go around St. Louis that you can create some amazing memories with your family. A few ideas can be…

  • Any of the numerous theaters
  • Top Golf
  • City Museum
  • The Gateway Arch Museum
  • Six Flags
  • Union Station
  • The Fabulous Fox
  • St. Louis Zoo
  • Grants Farm
  • A Cardinals or Blues game

The Christmas Tie

The holidays can’t be complete without dad wearing some crazy holiday tie! So head back on over to Shinesty and grab dad this awesome 8-bit Ugly Christmas tie! They even have a matching suit, so use that information wisely…

The tie even by itself is amazing, I am sure any dad, uncle, or grandpa would love to be sporting this great piece of fashion.

Canvas Print

Always, always, and I mean always a perfect gift for mom is a great canvas print. Smartphones have these great cameras that can take amazing photos and these photos can be printed in high quality and look fantastic on canvas print.

Lazers

Last but not least… a laser! No, not a laser blaster (although that would be cool), what I am referring to is a full spectrum laser. One of these puppies can etch, cut, and help you create some amazing projects. I won’t tell you the price tag but I recommend getting your order placed today!

So there it is! A crazy laser and a bunch of other cool stuff that completes this St. Louis Dad’s holiday gift guide for this year. You are more than welcome to pick me up any of these items, wrapped, and placed under my tree this year.

St. Louis Dad was provided compensation for some items to appears in this gift guide.

The St. Louis Dad Father’s Day Gift Guide

STLDAD-FathersDay

I have partnered up with Verizon for this post and have put together an awesome list of items that just about any dad would love this Father’s Day.

Fitbit Charge 2

IMG_9481First up is pretty cool heart rate and fitness wristband. The Fitbit Charge 2 is a great way to dad to monitor his health and activity while chasing around the kids. The long battery life makes wearing the Fitbit Charge 2 all day an easy way to stay on track. Reaching goals with the app & dashboard add even more to what you can do with this awesome little device. Wearing the Fitbit is a good reminder and motivator to stay active and better your health. A healthy dad is a happy dad.

The Fitbit Charge 2 connects up with both Android and iOS phones. So it doesn’t matter if you have one or the other you will be able to access your dashboard. It’s small and lightweight and doesn’t get in the way. A Fitbit would be a great way to help dad work on his dad bod.

JBL Flip 3

IMG_9484Next on the list of awesome things to get dad this Father’s Day is a booming JBL Flip 3 portable Bluetooth speaker. All purpose and all weather this loud little speaker offers 10 hours of playtime to keep those backyard BBQ parties groovin’ with tunes. It’s splash proof so if the kids get a little too crazy with the water balloons, dad can be sure the tunes will still be playing. A cool feature with the Flip 3 is that you can use JBL Connect and wirelessly link multiple JBL Connect compatible speakers together. So if all the dads in the neighborhood get one, the music will be jamming throughout the burbs.

Works with any Bluetooth compatible phone. Play that stream, podcast, playlist, or even use it while watching a movie. The JBL Flip 3 is a must for any dad that loves his tunes. Great for the backyard, camping, the beach, and more. You can take the JBL Flip 3 just about anywhere.

Google Home

IMG_9502Probably my favorite device on the list is the Google Home. This voice-activated speaker by Google is super cool. We already have a few Chromecasts in our house so the Google Home is smart enough to talk with them to play media wherever I tell it too. Dads will love the ability to ask their Google Home questions on how to perfect their new rub, or how to fix something on their car. I like to ask Google to play YouTube videos on my T.V. in the living room. Google Home also works with other devices like Nest so you can control other things within your home like your thermostat and more. All you have to do is just start with “OK Google”.

The kids love asking Google questions, like “Hey Google, what’s your favorite snack?”. Of course Google replies with some culinary masterpiece of a delicious dish and my kids are like “huh?”. But it’s still fun. My daughter likes to have Google start YouTube on the T.V. in our playroom. It’s funny hearing the things she will ask Google. I find myself asking Google some silly stuff all the time as well.

The kids love asking Google questions, like “Hey Google, what’s your favorite snack?”.

Samsung Galaxy S8+

IMG_9493The big ticket item on the St. Louis Dad Father’s Day Gift Guide is a Samsung Galaxy S8+. This phone is amazing. The curved edge is so smooth and surely would impress dad. Loaded with the latest Android operating system the Galaxy S8+ is super fast and ready for loading up apps from the Google Play store. The battery life is amazing. Dad won’t be able to use an uncharged phone as an excuse with the S8+, and with 64GB of space, there is plenty of room for dad to store photos and videos of his wonderful family. The Samsung Galaxy S8+ is an amazing phone that would be a great gift for this Father’s Day. Great phones for great dads.

The camera on this phone is incredible. Samsung really shines in the quality department overall with this phone. Be sure to grab one as soon as you can because I’m sure it will be a great gift this year for all dads.

Any one of these four devices would be an excellent choice as a gift for dad on Father’s Day. Or you could go crazy and get all four. I am sure he would appreciate that. I know I would (hint).

I want to thank Verizon for partnering with St. Louis Dad on this awesome Father’s Day gift guide. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter for more great content!
