IMG_6122As I get older I need to be sure that my health is on the up and up. Just like how you may need certain tools to fix your car or sink, you also need specific tools when it comes to monitoring your health. One helpful tool to have handy is a blood pressure monitor. Vive Health sent over one of their blood pressure monitors for me to try out and put it through some tests.

Included in some very nice packaging is the monitor, the cuff, batteries, and manual. After a quick read through of the manual I began setup of the device. It was pretty easy to get going. All I had to do was put in the batteries and turn on IMG_6123the device and enter the date and time. This is helpful because you can go back and reference your previous measurements if necessary. There is also the ability to have two different users saving historical measurement data in the devices memory.

Now I was ready to give the blood pressure monitor its first test. I put on the cuff and hit go. The device immediately began measuring my heart rate and once finished it provided my blood pressure and current heart rate. It was very easy to find out my blood pressure and now over time I can monitor and track to hopefully catch any issues before they arise.

IMG_6127After about a week of testing my blood pressure, I have realized that measuring after a cup of coffee isn’t a good idea and that typically, I am a pretty relaxed dad. These kids do know how to boil my blood but knowing that I can easily check my levels is a definitely reassuring.

Being a father, I need to be there for my kids. If monitoring my blood pressure can help make sure that I am calm and relaxed and ready to handle the stress of these crazy adventures my two kiddos bring me on, then that’s two minutes out of my day well spent. A manual blood pressure gauge would probably work just as well but with the historical tracking and ease of use the blood pressure monitor from Vive Health is an absolutely great purchase that can be used by more than just one.

I'm a 40-year-old father blessed with two wonderful children: a 13-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. My life revolves around my beautiful wife, who is the cornerstone of our family. Without her unwavering support, none of what I do would be possible. By day, I serve as a network administrator for a local school district, ensuring smooth operations in the realm of technology. During the evenings, you'll often find me engrossed in various creative pursuits, from illustrating books to crafting websites or composing music. But above all, my priority is spending quality time with my kids. Parenthood has been a profound journey of growth and discovery for me, and now, armed with a keyboard instead of a pen, I'm eager to share my experiences and insights with others.

  1. Hi Richie!

My name is Jacob and I have recently written a review on the Vive Precision blood pressure monitor. During my research I found that after some time the readings the monitor would give would sometimes be off by as much as 30 points.
This needed to be resolved by doing a reset or recalibration of the device.

As you have been using yours now for quite some time how do you feel the monitor has performed over this time?

    1. Hi Jacob!

My Vive blood pressure monitor is still working great. It does not appear to need any sort of reset or re-calibration. All of my numbers look to be just as accurate as the first time I used it.
