Throwback Thursday – March Madness Edition

mm-coverAs I have mentioned in the past, there is a lot more to me than just my kids. One of those things is that I used to DJ back before kids. Back then it was mainly hip-hop but now-a-days I typically will mix some electronic dance music (EDM). I don’t get opportunities as often as I had in the past so when a chance comes up to do a little mixing I will take up that chance.

Earlier this year I reached out to my buddy up north in Canada and asked him if he was interested in working together on a new March Madness mix for this year. He agreed and we began work on our mixes. Along with our mixes DJ Digikid also started something that we had created years ago, but to see what it has morphed into now is incredible. I’m not gonna mention what it is until Friday’s March Madness release but it is a pretty cool idea that I hope many will enjoy.

So in preparation for the latest March Madness 2017 mix from me and DJ Digikid that will be released tomorrow, Friday (March 10th) please enjoy a throwback to 2015 with a previous March Madness mix. There is some choice language in this mix, so beware if listening at work. If you can put in some headphones and enjoy!

March Madness is Coming Back

marchmadness-preview-coverAs a dad there are a lot of things I do with the kids but not a lot that I do for myself. So when an opportunity comes around where I can work on a project that doesn’t involve the kids I start to get excited. It’s already hard enough balancing my work and life along with the blog, but add in my own fun projects then things can get a little crazy.

So if you didn’t know, in the past I was a DJ for an online site that I ran and managed with some friends. DJing with them turned into producing the instrumentals you see released here at St. Louis Dad. Well, I never really stopped DJing. I have tons of mixes that I have made but not everything gets released, and because of licensing and copyright issues most mixes do not stay out in the wild for too long.

I am thrilled to announce that I will be back in the lab with my good buddy from up north DJ Digikid putting together a new installment of March Madness. I have some good plans for my portion of this mix and I am positive Digikid will bring out something amazing. I will be sure to post here once everything is live. You can always follow my production company Missouri Mobile Productions for updates, or you can even follow my DJ account 83rw on Twitter and Mixcloud for more updates as well.

Also, I want to shout-out the new International Alliance Facebook page which serves as the hub for all things EDM related between myself, DJ Digikid, and more! Instrumentals Vol. 14 Instrumentals Vol.14

It is a new year and I am back with more instrumentals! I took a little break but the instrumentals are back with another five tracks produced by yours truly. These five tracks have a variety of sound and maybe even a sample or two you might recognize. Instrumentals – Vol.14 will be released under a Creative Commons license. Read more about the specific license attached to these instrumentals here. If you have any questions about any of the instrumentals I can do my best to answer them, just send me an email.

Please comment below or email me with a link to your project if you use one of these instrumentals. I hope you enjoy these as much as I did making them and be sure to subscribe and follow me on TwitterInstagram, and Facebook to find out when Vol. 15 will be released!

Children’s Books – My Riddle Me Valentine

My Riddle Me Valentine

Working on this Valentine’s Day book had me very busy back in 2013. I spent a good portion of my free time working on this book to get it ready for Amazon’s marketplace before the big day; My Riddle Me Valentine by Charlene Christie. You may remember Charlene, she and I had worked on I Think I was Bit By a Mosquito previously. Which is also a great book for children.

Anyways, Charlene contacted me and asked if I was up for a challenge to get her book done in a little over a week back in January 2013. I checked out her story and I felt that it would be a great match for my style. So I agreed and in what seems like record time the book is now available for Kindle. The story is very cute and great for any young reader.

Amazon’s Description:

Andrew is an 11 year old kid with a mystery to solve. Someone has been leaving Valentine’s Day cards underneath his desk. He only has a few days to solve each riddle in order to find his Valentine. Can you help him? A Great Children’s Valentine’s day book and an Awesome Funny Book That Your Kids Will Love!
